Honoring our Veterans as we hold fast to our freedoms freedoms American Humane Association Hero Dog Roselle

Happy Veteran's Day, everybody!

It's not very often that we have days set aside to remember what makes America so special. So I hope you are taking time out on this day to appreciate the freedoms we have in this country. Not only that, but that people that are giving of their precious time, commitment and even lives to secure those freedoms for generations to come...

I was reminded of that as I watched the American Humane Association Hero dog awards tonight. One of the dogs honored was a yellow Labrador named Roselle; her owner, Michael Hingson (who is blind) worked at the World Trade Center on September 11. Like any hero, she guided Michael out of the building and to safety.
