 Music Monday: Speak to Me by Mark Harris

Wow, it's been a hard couple of weeks for my family and I; first, there was the rush to complete my book proposal and send it out, and then there was the disappointing news of the agent's response. I haven't given up, though, just moving forward- hoping God will show us another way. On a much more personal note, I can now say I know someone who died from Covid. Unfortunately, because of all the spikes going on in Ohio, my mom didn't want us traveling down there to go to the memorial; Still, I'm thankful that my mom arrived in time to say goodbye to her dear sister.

God answered my prayers because we'd been struggling with the question of when my mom should go up there to see her; she'd been struggling with balancing being a mother and sister. I could tell it weighed on her!

In such instances, don't you wish God would speak to you? I do.

Which brings me to today's "Music Monday" song by Mark Harris entitled "Speak To Me." In this song, Mark begs the Lord to speak to him; we aren't sure what he is doing with the time, but it is evident by the song's tone that he is desperate and committed to praying until he hears something from God.

Have you ever felt like that?

I have.

With everything going on in the world lately, it's hard to see God moving or speaking anywhere these days.

But I can guarantee he is; we're just not listening closely enough. If you don't believe me, take a second to look around you – every day creation is declaring his Majesty; Psalms 19:1-3 says, "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night, they reveal knowledge; They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them."

 But David doesn't stop there, insisting every part of creation has its impact. In verse three, he says, "Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world."

In truth, I had a whole other direction I was going with this blog, but this is what came out, so I will just let it be.
